The Aeropuerto Internacional Gobernador Francisco Gabrielli, more commonly known as El Plumerillo International Airport (MDZ) is located 11 kilometers (7 miles) from the city center. LAN and Aerolineas Argentinas fly from Buenos Aires daily, the duration of the flight is around two hours.LAN also flies from Santiago, Chile twice a day; this flight has duration of a little under an hour.

By Bus

The bus terminal, Terminal del Sol, in Mendoza offers a range of national and international bus services. It is located five blocks away from the main avenue San Martin.

Buses can be taken daily from Chile to Mendoza. Buses from Chile usually take around seven or eight hours depending on your origin and cost between USD$9.00 and USD$11.00. When travelling in the winter you must be aware of weather conditions, as the Paso de Libertadores (the pass) tends to close. A bus from Buenos Aires can take between 13 and 15 hours to reach Mendoza.

By Bus

Mendoza has a bus service that covers most of the city, including routes to the airport. Buses usually cost around USD$0.30, but it is recommended that you buy a rechargeable Mendobus card for about USD$1.00 to ensure smoother journeys.

By Taxi

Downtown Mendoza can be toured by foot. However, there are taxis and remis that can also be a comfortable option for transportation around Mendoza. Taxis are black and yellow and can be taken on the street, whereas remis are radio taxis and must be booked over the phone. The safest option is to call a remis to come pick you up. Brisas, Prestige and Rumbos are three remis companies.

By Car

Cars, vans and scooters can be rented at the airport. MDZ Rent a Car comes highly recommended. However, Avis, Localiza and Alamo/National are other rental companies with offices at the airport.
